Japan is a country that holds great fascination for many travellers. Robert Day's Japan Tours focus on providing unique experiences of Japanese architecture, art, and design.
Because attention to good design is pervasive in Japanese culture we believe that this is a perfect way to experience aspects of Japanese life from unusual and exciting perspectives. A rice-paper scroll, a tea ceremony, a Zen temple rock garden, an ancient shrine - even a plate of Sushi all have something in common, they are all saturated with a culture-wide attention to the good, the true and the beautiful.
Our Japan Tours travel to Tokyo, Kyoto and other nearby places seeking out interesting architecture, great art, great food and other wonderful cultural experiences. Tokyo is a dynamic metropolis where you will find some of the world's most unique and fascinating architecture. Kyoto is a city steeped in tradition with an abundance of ancient temples, shrines and gardens scattered throughout a bustling modern city.
A Robert Day Japan Tour is not your typical sight seeing tour. It is a definitive display of Japanese design expression that affords the opportunity to meet with local Japanese, to visit some of Tokyo’s great galleries and museums and see some of the world’s great art masterpieces. We also meet with Japanese architects and visit some out of the way places in Tokyo not normally on the tourist map. Many people on previous tours were seeking a unique, personal and “less ordinary” Japanese travel experience with an artistic and Japanese cultural focus and were not disappointed.
